Class: Painting Activity
Project Name: Walk-Off
For the first project of my 2nd semester of painting class at Cal Poly Pomona I decided to create a similar baseball scenario to my risograph zine + poster from my Workshop 2D class the prior semester. In this painting I separated 4 major scenes into 4 corners with the pitcher and hitter corners being slightly bigger. I also included smaller images in the top left and bottom right corners that helped to provide more context to the story. The story is told from left to right, top to down. This project was created with acrylic paint on an 18x24 canvas, with some red yarn being sewn into the middle borders to depict baseball stitching.

Project Name: Artist-Inspired Painting
For this project we were required to make a painting using 3 contemporary artists as inspiration. The 3 artists I chose were Martha Diamond for her repetition of imagery, Shara Hughes' use of depth and Erin Hanson's unique color palette and brush style. Even though we only had to choose 1 from the 3 we selected, I wanted to incorporate all 3 using at least one of their techniques most prevalent in their artworks. I depicted a hermit crab looking over a beach with a large tidal wave at night. This painting was painted using acrylic paint on an 18x24 canvas.

Project Name: Personalized Still-Life
For this ceramics project we were required to create a personalized still-life, sculpting half by memory and the other half by memory. For my still-life I decided to create objects that hold significance to my life. The objects include the bowl, a Xbox controller, computer mouse, Filipino barbeque stick, 3 lumpia eggrolls, baseball bat and paintbrush. On the left is the greenware version and the on the right is the glaze ware version with a glossy cover.
